Double Bacon Burgers

Ingredients
Burger Patties
- 5 slices bacon
- ½ lb ground beef
- Salt + pepper
Special Sauce
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 Tbsp dill pickles, minced
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp pickle juice
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Burger Additions
- Cooked bacon slices
- Cheese
- Butter lettuce
- Sliced tomato
- Minced onion
- Brioche Burger Buns
Instructions
Make the patties: Finely chop the bacon slices, and combine in a bowl with the ground beef, salt and pepper. Form 4, thin patties, a bit larger than your burger buns. Use parchment paper sheets to press down the patties to make them as thin as possible. Alternatively, make two thicker patties. Heat a large skillet to over medium high heat and fry the patties until deeply brown and crisp, about 4 minutes each side. Serve on toasted buns with a slice of cheese in between two patties for a double-patty burger.
Recipe Notes
Mixing minced bacon into the patties makes deeply-flavored burgers. Salt and pepper is all that is needed, no other seasonings or flavors are required. Pressing the patties thin allows you to achieve crispy edges.
Pair these burgers with homemade brioche buns.
